Santana is the debut studio album by American Latin rock band Santana. It was released on August 30, 1969. Over half of the album's length is composed of instrumental music, recorded by what was originally a purely free-form jam band.

Santana is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1966 by Mexican-American guitarist and songwriter Carlos Santana. The band has undergone multiple recording and performing line-ups in its history, with Santana the only consistent member. Santana had early success with their appearance at Woodstock in 1969 and their first three albums, Santana (1969), Abraxas (1970), and Santana III (1971).

He took the name Ahenfo Band instead, eventually finding overdue success with their third album, 1983’s Moses. Its religious theme was condemned by Ghana’s Christian Council, but it nevertheless established Crentsil as a major domestic artist. 1985’s Tantie Alaba was released in Europe by UK record label Earthworks, spreading that popularity to foreign territories. His status was confirmed by the popular and critical success of Toronto By Night the following year

The discography of the rock band Santana formed by the Mexican-American rock guitarist Carlos Santana consists of 25 studio albums, seven live albums, 61 singles and 23 compilation albums. Santana formed in 1967 in San Francisco and was originally known as the Carlos Santana Blues Band. The first members were Carlos Santana (lead guitar), Tom Fraser (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Mike Carabello (percussion), Rod Harper (drums), David Brown (bass guitar) and Gregg Rolie (organ).

Santana is the third studio album by Santana. The band's second self-titled album, it is often referred to as III to distinguish it from the band's 1969 debut album. The album was also known as Man with an Outstretched Hand. It was the third and last album by the Woodstock-era lineup, and it was also considered by many to be the band's peak commercially and musically, as subsequent releases aimed towards more experimental jazz and Latin music  .
