The album featured unconventional use of percussion interspersed with ambient segments. The eponymous single from the album featured Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins on vocals. Throughout the record, familiar motifs and samples repeated themselves, sitting alongside tropical birdsong, rainfall, wind and an array of other exotic sounds, lending the album a natural, organic feel, backed up by the environmental landscapes that filled the artwork booklet. They also moved into creating their own sounds when they began constructing electronic instruments, the result of which can be heard on the 2007 release Hand-Made Devices

Earthbeat is a compilation album of Future Sound of London's early releases, using several aliases. All of the tracks on this album are by Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans (FSOL) but under pseudonyms such as 'Mental Cube' and 'Yage'. The duo had been releasing songs under these aliases for around two years before they recorded "Accelerator" as FSOL

After Dead Cities came out in 1996, they felt like they were moving in the wrong direction and they dropped off the radar after the A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind Vo. mix in mid 1997.

This is particularly true of the Moles, who bent their Chills-like indie pop into a weird enough shape to give it an almost lysergic-punk feel. The group, which essentially became a Richard Davies solo project by its second full-length album, didn't quite reinvent pop music; however, Davies and his cohorts did find a satisfying balance between off-kilter experimentation and the occasional catchy tune.

This is a great example of turn of the century Neo-psychedelic sound. The music is in the range of trippy punk and far out there -----------> in the black matter of bliss! Seek it and listen many times. That is if you like a band playing real instruments and being creative. It's a must have for fans of Psychedelic music. -Randy
