The Cherry Boys hit the Liverpool scene in November 1980 after the release of their first single 'Man to ma. In 1982 they came top of the poll in the Liverpool best bands award also releasing their follow up single 'Only fools die' as well as a six track cassette entitled 'Give it rice. They released two more singles in 1983 on chappel music.

1981c - The Cherry Boys release a single called "Kardomah Cafe". 1984c - The Kardomah Cafe opens in Sydney. 1998c - The Band "Kardomah" from South Wales is formed and Releases their first album. 2008c - The Film Edge of love released about Dylan Thomas starring Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley. 2014c - Kardomah 94 opens in Hull at the centre of the cities cultural life.

Liverpool's Kardomah Cafe just off Stanley street which was open until the late 80s also gained popularity for the song titled 'Kardomah Cafe'. The song was realised in 1983 by Liverpool group The Cherry Boys. This branch was also used by the Beatles, and the many Merseybeat groups of the 1960s, who played in the nearby Cavern Club. Birmingham (opposite Snow Hill Station, and New Street). Blackpool (Promenade). Cambridge (St Andrew's Street). Cardiff (Queen Street).
