Mocean Worker (pronounced "motion worker") is the recording alias of jazz musician and producer Adam Dorn. Philadelphia native Adam Dorn is the son of renowned jazz and R'n'B producer Joel Dorn. He grew up around the jazz and R&B discs his father produced for Atlantic Records in the '60s and '70s. As a 15-year-old, he sent a fan letter to bassist Marcus Miller.

Exclusive Prime pricing. I used to HATE electronic music. But it's guys like Mocean Worker that truly make you appreciate the creativity and originality of the genre. I picked this album up because I read good things, and boy, is it good.

Jazzy drum'n'bass is hardly the full story on Mocean Worker's debut album. From the darkside noir of "American Tabloid" (a James Ellroy tribute) to the excellent roots/standards homage on the evocative s I Feel Like a Motherless Child," Dorn pulls off a minor masterpiece of the field

Mocean Worker is the title of this album and it features me playing bass for the first time on my own music. I never really felt like real bass playing fit on my music as it’s heavily electronic and dance oriented. This new album has a new life and organic feel that only a real bass can bring. This sudden confidence in my bass playing came as a result of co-writing a song with Marcus Miller for his new album Afrodeezia. The song I Can’t Breath is a co-write between Marcus. Chuck D (from Public Enemy.
