Very chilled trippy album. I would recommend this to a space progger or a dance fiend as a chill out but not to someone outside the space prog/dance genre. Haunting, memorable and very synth. The music invites the listener to come and walk in bizarre and alien lands: more romantic and dreadful than our own. It's like Sibelius to that extent

This album was released on the Snapper Music label. The sound quality varies from track to track, with some tracks sounding "hotter" than others. There is no audience noise whatsoever on the live tracks and they sound as if they were taken directly from the mixing board. I only knew of Nodens Ictus when Spacelines was released in 2000. I had only been an Ozric fan for three years up to that point (now 15 years). I already knew of Eat Static. I didn't realize the Ozric side projects that existed since the band was releasing home made cassettes. Nodens Ictus was one of them, basically Ed and Joie, sometimes Merv. They started off releasing cassettes just like the Ozrics, 1987's The Grove of Selves being the first of these.
