Jay Douglas is a Canadian musician, based in Toronto. He is a long-time member of the Toronto music scene. Douglas was born in Jamaica. Douglas spent his childhood in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where he first performed. He moved to Toronto, Ontario to join his mother in 1963 when he was a teenager. According to a 2012 profile in Now magazine, Douglas' first Canadian performances were at Toronto's Central Technical School, when he was a student there. His first professional group was The Cougars, a funk band.

A natural born performer, Jay Douglas first took to the stage over 40 years ago as a youth in his hometown of Montego Bay, Jamaica. His first real break came through one of the wildly popular talent contests held by Vere Johns, whom author Lloyd Bradley, in his book This is Reggae Music, described as "the most influential man in Jamaican music in the second half of the 1950s. Douglas was runner-up in the competition and swiftly caught the attention of many prominent ears in the emerging reggae landscape. The young Douglas immediately became a contributing voice to the rising styles.

Jay Douglas first appeared on stage in Montego Bay, Jamaica when he was a youth. In over 45 years of entertainment, Jay has developed a wide-ranging repertoire of American Blues, West Indian Rhythms, Jazz Standards combined with fancy footwork and incredible on-stage charisma. In the early ’60s, Jay fronted the R&B group The Cougars who with their skill and verve lit up the city of Montreal as well as Toronto’s Yonge Street nightclubs. in the late ’70s with Soul Funk and Reggae

Jay (simplified Chinese: 杰伦; traditional Chinese: 杰倫) is the debut studio album by Taiwanese singer Jay Chou, released on 6 November 2000 by BMG Taiwan. The album was nominated for five Golden Melody Awards and won for Best Pop Vocal Album. The album also won an IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Award for Top 10 Best Selling Mandarin Albums of the Year. The track, "Adorable Lady", is listed at number 74 on the 2000's Hit FM Top 100 Singles of the Year chart
