It was released on October 31, 2005 by Geffen Records. Greatest Hits was created by Geffen shortly after the band’s February 2005 breakup, termed an indefinite hiatus by the label. Tensions had risen in the group and guitarist Tom DeLonge desired to take time off. Bassist Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker argued with DeLonge regarding the band’s future and their possible next album, and heated exchanges led to DeLonge’s exit. The compilation was released alongside a DVD of the same name, a collection of the trio’s music videos to that point in time. Greatest Hits has been certified platinum in Canada and triple platinum in Australia.
So when Rolling Stone began picking the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums, we set some ground rules. Naturally, they had to start a band. That blend of influences has made Deafheaven one of the most polarizing and controversial metal bands of recent years. As McCoy put it, they claim this triangle of extreme music, experimental music and very sad indie rock. That’s what we were into.
Greatest Hits is a 1988 compilation album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac. It covers the period of the band's greatest commercial success, from the mid-1970s to the late 1980s. It is different from the similarly titled 1971 release by the Peter Green incarnation of the band, and contains an entirely different track listing. The 1988 album in fact omits anything before 1975 including "Albatross", one of the band's biggest hits. The album has proven to be a major success since the time of its release.
Green Day announces greatest hits album to be released at the end of their current world tour. According to a press release, the album will feature twenty of the band’s biggest songs from the dawn of creation in 1986 to present day, as well as the new song Back In The USA and a duet with country superstar Miranda Lambert on Ordinary World. The new album comes at the close of Green Day’s Revolution Radio world tour, which ends on Nov. 19 in Mexico City. The band played Global Citizen Festival on the last day of their North American leg, churning out their best protest anthems Know Your Enemy and Holiday, ad-libbing I’m not a part of dumb Trump America during American Idiot.
