Storm of the Light's Bane is the second full-length album by the Swedish black metal band Dissection. The album was released on November 17, 1995 by Nuclear Blast Records. This would be the band's last full-length album before Nödtveidt's 1997 incarceration for the felony murder of Josef ben Meddour. It would not be until 2006 that they would release their third and final album Reinkaos, which was followed by Jon Nödtveidt's suicide and the breakup of the band.

Dissection released a number of live albums and EPs before its final dissolution, and played a central role in the development of Sweden's black metal and death metal scenes, particularly through the influence of the first two albums; it has sometimes been described as part of the Gothenburg scene. In 1992 Dissection recorded a four-track promo tape and signed a one-album deal with No Fashion Records. In March 1993, the band recorded the full-length album The Somberlain, recorded and mixed at Hellspawn/Unisound studios with Dan Swanö. During a meeting at Nödtveidt's place, a list of possible victims was made Members.

11 Dissection Dissection was a Swedish extreme metal band. They formed in 1989 by Jon Nödtveidt and later disbanded in 2006, followed by Nödtveidt's suicide. Their sound is usually described as "melodic blackened death metal". There are a lot of great albums in black metal such as spiritual black dimmensions by dimmu Borgir, pure holocaust by immortal and anything by gorgoroth and dark funeral but frost just stand out in this genera just like transylvanian hunger. Apparently this is an under-rated band!

Surely black metal’s most iconic split album. Beherit – Drawing Down The Moon (Spinefarm, 1993). Finland’s Beherit initially came from the same chaotic and primitive school of black metal as the aforementioned Canadians, Blasphemy. Dissection – Storm Of The Light’s Bane (Nuclear Blast, 1995). While Sweden’s Dissection were very much black metal in terms of ideology and atmosphere, they also featured noticeable elements of the melodic death metal movement exploding in their home country, as well as classic ‘80s heavy metal. This, their second album, is a melodic, majestic and gloriously epic listen that features a measured, bombastic tone yet also makes use of furious, high-paced delivery when necessary. Burzum – Filosofem (Misanthropy Records, 1996).

Black metal for beginners? (self. submitted 2 years ago by Latiax81. I have liked metal for over a year now, and I like Burzum. Dissection - Where Dead Angels Lie or The Somberlain. Immortal - Damned in Black or Tyrants. Dimmu Borgir - Mourning Palace. Amiensus - On These Deserted Plains. Netherbird - Windwards.
