I saw an ad in a Guitar Player magazine back then and decided I'd go looking for the CD. Picked it up a Recycled Records down on Lighthouse Ave in Monterey, California.

Guitars & Other Cathedrals. This eclectic 13 piece collection is guitar noodling near its finest, but there are drawbacks to having an entire album where each tune has the same simple approach. Legg has assembled an electro-acoustic instrument from spare parts, to hear his liner notes tell it, and this makes for some interesting, if not wholly captivating listening. While his stroking of the strings is often elegant as well as exciting, it's just Legg and his guitar - no rhythm and a little too much freedom at the expense of totally distinctive melodies.

By the time of his first Stateside release, 1990’s Guitars & Other Cathedrals on Relativity, his all-instrumental jumble of folk, rock, country, Celtic, blues, Middle Eastern, jazz, and classical styles – and techniques borrowed from banjo, pedal steel and other instruments – was already being declared uncategorizable.
