Embrace is the debut record and the only release by the American post-hardcore band Embrace. The album, released by Dischord Records, consists of songs composed and performed in the context of Washington, . s 1985 Revolution Summer by one of its mainstay acts. Although recorded between November 1985 and February 1986, the album would not be released until 1987, after the demise of that social movement and the dissolution of the band.

OUT OF NOTHING, the band's fourth album, refines the elements prominent on earlier releases, and boasts euphorically expansive production and a batch of well crafted songs tailor-made for the charts. A case in point is the album's first single "Gravity" (co-written by Coldplay's Chris Martin), a lush number packed with emotional passion and a swelling, open-the-floodgates chorus. It is little wonder that the album debuted at number one in the . in 2004

Out of Nothing is the fourth studio album by English rock band Embrace. It went straight in at number one on the official UK charts, going double platinum, selling more than 600,000 copies in the UK, making it their best selling album and their most critically acclaimed since their debut album The Good Will Out. It was a much-anticipated release, as Embrace had not released any new material for three years.

To call Out Of Nothing a straightforward album would be to miss the complexity of its arrangements and the diversity shown by a band with so much aplomb in the pop-songwriting department that it would be easy to just crank out record after record of MOR nonsense. No, Out Of Nothing is not the most ambitious release the genre's ever seen, and yes, it does rely heavily on huge sentiments that have been touched on since forever, but it's really, really good at it. It's easy, it's captivating and - best of all - it's ridiculously consistent.
